The 150-year-old Parisian tradition of making unique, handmade gowns is back in vogue in a big way this year. The fall-winter 2014/15 collections started earlier this month with five days of shows from 12 major houses, as well as many up-and-coming designers. SOFITEL & PARIS
You’ll find small reminders of our glamorous French heritage in everyone of our hotels in 32 countries, including at Sofitel New York (pictured). Magnifique!
Hot on the heels of Dior’s romantic extravaganza in New York last week, Maison Chanel presented their Cruise collection in Dubai yesterday.
The location of this year’s cruise collection was the glitziest yet: a manmade island off the coast of Dubai, not far from Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa.

Even on a rainy New York day, we do love a chic Chanel arrival.
CHANEL / PARIS
This year marks 10 years of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art runway shows, 11 showcases of craftsmanship and excellence drawing inspiration from a different country that played a part in the house’s history, each year. Yet of course our home Paris is the city that has always held the allure of the Chanel label - Coco opened her first boutique on rue Cambon in 1910, close to the current Chanel store, and only moments from Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg.
Did you know that you’ll find a selection of books at every Sofitel around the world? Each week we feature some of our favorites, like this splash of color snapped at Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Copacabana.
